Please see our PE Uniform Policy
The school has a PE/Games uniform and this should be worn at all appropriate times.
- White t-shirt, long enough to tuck into shorts
- Plain black shorts or black tracksuit bottoms
- Trainers for outdoor PE
If your child is representing the school in an inter school tournament which requires a team kit, please ensure the kit is washed then returned to the school office promptly after use. If lost, there will be a charge in order to replace it. We can only compete in fixtures if we have full kits!
Sports Day 2017
Netball Catholic Cup
Our netballers spent an afternoon playing against many other catholic schools from across the city. They played brilliantly and reached the semi finals. Well done team!
Football Catholic Cup
Our Y6 football team represented our school on a very warm Friday afternoon at Goals. We played a range of matches against many different schools from across the city. The teamwork that the boys began to display was brilliant. A huge well done to Leiwi, Louis, Blessing, Marius, Callum, Brandon, Declan and Tumelo.
Cross Country Catholic Cup
8 of our pupils from across Ks2 participated in a very long cross country run around a difficult course. It was the first time some of them had run at such a level before but they all kept on pushing themselves. The teamwork and support that they showed each other was brilliant to see! You did us proud!
A huge congratulations on your achievements to:
Cato, Ellicia, Connie, Yanjani, Addison, Suriah, Harrison and Maddie.
Netball SFSS Local League Winners
Our netballers did the school proud once again; this time by becoming the winners of the SFSS local league. The girls played tremendously throughout the whole tournament and won all of their matches – only conceding one goal! It’s wonderful to see how much progress this team has made over the past 2 years and every single member of it should be extremely proud of themselves and all of the hard work they have put in.
Well done to Jessica, Lucy, Rose, Ornella, Siobhan, Cody, Olamide, Laura and Angel. Not forgetting Kara for all of her hard work and Rudina for her support!
12th – 23rd June
What a busy start to the half term… the whole school has been very active!
Several of our Y3/4 pupils represented our school in a tennis tournament at Hallamshire Tennis Club. Although we were pretty new to the sport, our children did us proud and it was fantastic to see the progress they made throughout the afternoon. Nobody gave up and they all continued to have a go!
Y5 Swimming Festival
Alongside a lot of other local schools, our Y5’s took part in a Swimming Festival at Ponds Forge Leisure Centre. A fantastic day was had by all!
Y5 Boys Football
Our Y5 team did us proud in an evening fixture against Athelstan Primary. Despite the score not going our way, the boys kept their spirits up and worked as a team until the final whistle. Thanks to all of the parents who came along to support us!
This half term, Y3/4 are very lucky to have Will and Finlay from Sheffield Hallam coaching us in hockey. We are really enjoying developing our news skills in lessons.
Y6 Fittest Primary School Competition
This week, Y6 recorded their results for Sheffield’s Fittest Primary School Competition. They were really put to the test but didn’t give up. There was a continuous circuit of burpees, 100m sprints, speed bounces and sit ups. Well done Y6, it was a challenge for 9:00am on a Tuesday morning!
SFSS Netball City Wide Tournament
Our netball team and families spent a beautiful, sunny Saturday at Sheffield High competing against lots of different schools from across the city. The girls played wonderfully against some very talented teams. We finished third in our group and continued to represent the school throughout an afternoon of friendlies. Well done team!
SFSS Local League Netball Tournament (1st Round)
Our first netball fixture of the year was at Park Academy where we spent the evening playing against local schools in our league. It was incredible to see how well the girls have developed as a team – they’ve clearly been working hard during training sessions with Kara! St Theresa’s came first place despite all teams working very hard. Well done girls and a massive thank you to the parents that came to cheer us on!
SFSS Y6 Local League Football Tournament
Some of our Y6 boys did our school proud in an evening football tournament at Handsworth College. This was one of the team’s first interschool fixtures together, and it was great to see how well they began to gel together throughout the tournament. We came third place and are looking forward to being able to play together again as a team. Well done boys!
SFSS Local League Netball Tournament (2nd Round)
Just before half term, we played the rest of the teams in our local league at Springs Academy. Again, the girls did us proud and won the tournament. Combined with the results of the 1st round of this tournament, we have finished top of our local league this term. Well done to all of team and Kara for their effort in training on Monday evenings – it is certainly paying off! Again, a huge thank you to all of the support from family members.
Whole School Judo
This week, each of our classes participated in a Judo taster session. We learnt about what Judo actually is and how to work with each other safely. We practised on Judo mats, wearing the actual judogis. If you would like to find out about local judo clubs for children, please see the flyer that was sent home or ask at the office.
This half term, Y5 have the exciting opportunity to experience the Olympic sport of fencing. Our first session was very exciting and we are looking forward to seeing what more we can learn.
Y3/4 Hockey Coaching
On Tuesday mornings, Y3/4 are very lucky to have William and Finlay from Sheffield Hallam University coach our hockey PE lessons. The first sessions have been very exciting… watch this space!
Y4 have recently begun their swimming lessons on Monday mornings which will continue weekly until July. Please ensure your child has their swim kit (towel also!) each Monday as this is a key part of the National Curriculum!
